Volunteer with the Quad Cities People's Kitchen

Our Quad Cities (Iowa and Illinois-based) Peoples Kitchen Initiative emphasizes communal direct action to the most vulnerable members of our community, with a focus on providing mutual aid – not charity – to the food insecure, impoverished, and homeless population through weekly mobile food distribution. We recognize that we have more in common with these members of our community than we do with any CEO, billionaire, or politician.

We recognize the humanity in those the system has dehumanized and relegated to a subjugated underclass and aims to serve those that have been abandoned and disenfranchised by capitalism. The goal of justice is to advantage the most disadvantaged and this starts with community work on the ground and reaching those most affected.

Our work is rooted in inherently anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, anti-white supremancy, anti-patriarical thought; volunteering with us means you:

Conduct by volunteers is expected to be free of hateful conduct and speech against vulernable and marginalized peoples.
